Tony Dungy Speaks to Players + Outback Bowl Info

  • Former Buccaneers Coach Tony Dungy spoke to players and staff from the Auburn and Northwestern football teams, this morning at a Fellowship of Christian Athletes Breakfast.
  • His message was to  practice hard and play to win. But keep the competition in perspective.
  • He recalled what Steelers Coach Chuck Noll told him as a rookie, "Welcome to the NFL. It's a great game, but it's just a game."
  • He talked about how even the most successful athletes can fall. He used Tiger Woods and Michael Vick as examples. Dungy served as a mentor for Vick through his hard times.  
  • Dungy also mentioned that he has been praying for Urban Meyer.
