• According to Jay Tate, Tommy Thigpen, Auburn secondary coach and one of our best recruiter, has interviewed with the Florida Gators as safeties coach. Thigpen has recruited commits Jessel Curry, Chris Davis, Jake Holland, D.J.Howard, Jonathan Mincy, LaDarius Owens, Jeremy Richardson, and Chad Slade.
• According to Scout.com, Cam Newton will announce on New Years Eve. It is between Auburn, Mississippi State, and Oklahoma. He plans to enroll at his new school in January.
• Philip Lutzenkirchen is expected to replace the academically ineligible Eric Smith in the Outback Bowl.
